Today our Elsie is one! From day one she has been everything to us. When I was pregnant I used to imagine what she would look like. We had the normal typical ultrasound and I could imagine from there what she looked like. Everything was what I imagined but her nose looked like a pug in the picture :) She just came out with a button nose. I had the longest birth and I never thought that I personally would ever experience one really hard birth. Four days of labor and not making progress really takes a toll on you. Having Elsie gave me this feeling that is indescribable. I felt so strong and on top of the world. I had three failed epidurals and only fourty five minutes of a break with morphine. I pushed all on my own. I felt it all and once I saw Elsie I knew it was all okay and that the pain I felt for days was all worth it. I would do it over again and again for her. She has become my whole world. She makes me smile everyday. From day one she has been great. She rarely cried or cries to this day. She is a good sleeper (likes to be alone though!). She loves veggies like her mama. She puckers like her Daddy. Elsie has the most hair I've ever seen on a baby! She is like a living doll. :) She loves her Starbucks bears ( a girl after her mama's heart). She loooves toothbrushes. She is always talking and sometimes you'll get the eyebrow raise...Definitely got that from me! She points. She slaps (even if you grab the hand she uses the other) I think I'll have the mean girl on the playgrounds. She has the chubbiest legs ever! She is our Boota Foota, our cootie patootie and our princess. She goes around saying "Goy Goy Goy" behind her binkies. She finds everything!!! (she lets me know when I need to vacuum!) She has the cutest giggle I've ever heard. She scrunches her nose when she gets her excited smile. I hear something every single day about her pigtails (Boo) or her one ponytail (Pebbles). If you say to Elsie, "Gimme a kiss" She leans in and kisses you on the lips! (Daddy's lips!) LUCKY GIRL! She is the most beautiful little girl I have ever seen. It has been a crazy, exciting and overwhelming first year as parents. I love that I got to be home with her everyday and work nights. I love that We have been a team taking care of Elsie. I love that I will know this very special little person the rest of my life. I hope and pray she has everything she ever wants and that she is a kick butt kinda girl! I want to show her everything I know I had and that Ryan had. I know we will always give her what she needs in life and give her an awesome, fun and loving childhood. I love you little girl. I'm always your Mommy. Daddy loves you with all his heart. You are everything to us and more. Happy Birthday Elsie.
